Four Feet Away

That's how far Phill was from this duo. Other photographers lugged heavy telephoto lenses. Those might have been wonderful for the butterflies but were unnecessary for the larger wildlife.

Deer are such lovely creatures, aren't they? In my daughter's dining room yesterday I looked up and saw a deer sitting on her back lawn, taking in the sun.

They are lovely. Phill and I have seen so many, but we never tire of seeing them. Especially in the park here, the deer are as close to tame as a wild animal can get. No hunting is allowed, and no natural predators exist. It is only when someone is hiking with a dog that the deer run. We didn't bring White Dragon last night, which allowed us to get this close.
