Of Lakes, Birds, and Eroded Mountains

Phill has always told me that the Uwharrie Mountains are the oldest in North America. The mountain in the background is Pilot Mountain.

Well looking at the erosion on Pilot Mountain, which has such a nice rounded top I was sure that could be true. Then I clicked on the link. That's exactly what they said.
Here in the Pacific Northwest we still have the new pointy tipped mountains, just like kids draw to illustrate a mountain.
These are lovely photos you have been posting Sarabeth.

Thanks, JMB and Genevieve. I have more, but I'll spare everyone from all the cows.
