Goodbye 2005

I will do no yearly recap of my life. I will state no resolutions. I will post a very predictable poem.

Auld Lang Syne
By Robert Burns

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll take a cup o'kindness yet
For auld lang syne!

And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp,
And surely I'll be mine,
And we'll take a cup o'kndness yet
For auld lang syne!

We twa hae run about the bares
And pou'd the gowans fine,
But we've wandered monie a weary fit
Sin' auld lang syne.

We to hae paidl'd in the burn
Fare morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.

The words 'Auld Lang Syne' literally translates from old Scottish dialect meaning 'Old Long Ago' and is about love and friendship in times past. The lyrics in the song Auld Lang Syne referring to 'We'll take a Cup of Kindness yet' relate to a drink shared by men and women to symbolise friendship.
