Why can't the people of Kansas do what the people of Pennsylvania did?

Not long after posting the entry below about the Kansas Board of Education and its ousting of evolution in its school curricula, I read this story about the residents of Dover, PA.

Dover's school board adopted a policy in October 2004 requiring ninth-graders to hear a prepared statement about intelligent design before learning about evolution. Eight of the nine school board members who adopted this policy were up for election Tuesday. All of those eight members were voted out.

By the way, there's a court case out regarding this policy in Dover, PA. A ruling is expected in January.

I saw a news special on this PA thing and the statement was pretty simple. In fact it was so simple that the students were confused as to why their parents were acting all pissed off and why neighbors and long time friends were no longer speaking to each other. *sheesh*
